GC Man Up — Men’s Ministry Brand Identity

Three Concept Directions. One Unified Identity.

Man Up is GC Church’s men’s ministry, created to call men into strength, brotherhood, and spiritual maturity. I developed three brand directions exploring different tones — rugged, modern, and minimalist — before landing on the final identity chosen by the leadership team.

Concept 1

This direction leans into a bold, gritty aesthetic that communicates strength, conviction, and brotherhood. The rugged texture, angular typography, and deep red accents were designed to reflect the seriousness of the call in 1 Corinthians 16:13 and establish a strong visual identity for the men’s ministry.

Concept 2

This direction emphasizes bold confidence and energy, pairing a strong collegiate-style type treatment with an action-focused photo to capture the movement, unity, and call-to-action behind the Man Up ministry. The visual framing and color palette lean into empowerment and strength, creating a dynamic identity that feels alive and rooted in community.

Concept 3

This direction leans into a bold, high-contrast editorial style, combining gritty textures, cutout photography, and strong central typography to create a dynamic, community-driven look. The layout emphasizes real men, real stories, and real worship—capturing the relational authenticity at the heart of the Man Up ministry.

Final Identity & Brand Application

The finalized Man Up identity was crafted for strength, clarity, and adaptability. These two approved logo variations form the core of the brand system, built to function well across events, apparel, and digital communication.

Designing Identity, Inspiring Culture

Effective design can influence a culture, but effective design leadership can transform it. This project showed me how clarity, vision, and intentional direction can do more than create a strong brand—they can help shape the way a community thinks, connects, and grows together.
